NELSON ROLIHLAHLA MANDELA

Nelson Mandela is the former South African President and African National Congress who was imprisoned since 1962 and spent 27 years in prison in South Africa. After 27 years Nelson Mandela was released from prison and became the first black President of South Africa, through the ballot box. Nelson Mandela who sacrificed his life for 27 years in prison to the liberation of South Africa was released from prison by his predecessor President F.W. on February 11, 1990. Nelson Mandela was the anti-apartheid leader who teamed up with other black South African leaders to overthrow the racist white minority government in South Africa through peaceful means. Apartheid was a system of governance in South Africa that made policies of racial segregation. This system was enforced by the white minority regime. This kind of governance system was considered to be un-human by the local culture of the people therefore it brought about, tension and a black up rising in South Africa.
